TWO: Assess the need for /and deliver digital workshops within District
THREE: Develop a strategy for marketing online school library services to other open school (here or abroad) and Workshops for Digital #43 - generate work
COSTS (limited)
- TOC coverage for teachers taking workshops and teacher-librarian giving workshops - where needed.
- Teacher-librarian will donate prep time as well as time for writing and publishing the Open School Library. She will use home computer and blog sofware.
DETAILS
ONE: Open the library
The teacher-librarian would meet in person with Open teachers and admin to discuss ways they can collaborate on specific lessons and assignments. After that, e-mail and telephone would suffice for communication in most cases.
The teacher-librarian would find resources, adapt assignments, write and publish online materials for teachers. This would be staged of course, with e-mail communication back-and-forth until the teacher is satisfied that the resource would be useful. Interactive feature would be used to enhance the lesson (e.g. RSS feeds, wikis, comments enabled).
TWO: Assess the need for /and deliver digital workshops within District
The teacher-librarian would offer sample workshops to District teachers, teacher-librarians and admin, or staff proD’s - with idea of assessing needs.
All workshops would be published and presented at the workshop so that others could look at it, or refer to it later
E.g.
- Creating your own online textbooks
- Creating online lessons with WORD and / or blogs
- Finding the best teaching resources in your subject (A "social studies resources" session will be delivered to provincial Socials Studies conference - this could be repeated).
- Using News in the Classroom (using RSS feeds and News Alerts), lesson plans, resources
THREE: Develop a strategy for marketing online school library services to other open school (here or abroad) and Workshops for Digital #43 - generate work
YEAR TWO: ROAD TO SUSTAINABILITY
Hopefully enough financial resources could be generated (grants, external workshops, online services - the second year to fund a .5 position (or more).
